Privacy policy

At Arbórea Costa Rica we respect your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, what we use it for and what your rights are.

2. How an order works

arboreacr.com has no user accounts and no online payments. When you build an order, the site prepares a message with the pieces you chose and the details you type, and opens it in WhatsApp. Nothing is sent to Arbórea until you decide to send that message. Payment is agreed directly with us in the conversation.

3. Data we collect

When you send us an order on WhatsApp:

  • Full name.
  • Phone or WhatsApp number.
  • Email, if you choose to include it.
  • Delivery details for the option you choose: address or landmark, province, hotel or Airbnb and departure date, or destination country.
  • The pieces ordered and any notes you add.

When you message us on WhatsApp, by email or on social media: the content of your message and your contact details.

When you visit the site: like any website, our hosting provider’s server logs technical data (IP address, browser, pages requested, date and time) to run and protect the site. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools.

We do not collect card data or sensitive data, and the site is not aimed at minors.

4. Data kept on your device

While you build your order, the pieces you choose and the form details are stored only in your browser (local storage), so they are not lost if you reload the page. That data is not sent to our server. You can delete it with the “Clear order” button or in your browser settings. More in our cookie policy.

5. What we use your data for

  • Confirming availability, preparing and delivering your order.
  • Arranging payment, delivery and any exchange or return.
  • Answering your questions and custom commissions.
  • Meeting Costa Rican legal and tax obligations.

We will not send you promotional messages unless you ask for them.

We process your data with your consent, which you give when you send us your order or question, and to carry out the purchase you request. We also process it when the law requires us to, for example for tax purposes.

7. Who we share your data with

We do not sell, rent or transfer your data. We only share it when needed to fulfil your order:

  • WhatsApp (Meta): the conversation takes place on that platform, which also applies its own privacy policy.
  • Delivery services: Correos de Costa Rica or the courier we use receive the name, phone and address needed for delivery.
  • Hosting provider: hosts the site and its technical logs.
  • Competent authorities: when there is a legal obligation.

8. How long we keep your data

  • Purchase data: as long as Costa Rican tax law requires, at least 4 years.
  • Questions that do not lead to a purchase: up to 12 months, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Server technical logs: as long as our hosting provider keeps them.

9. Your rights

Under Costa Rica’s Law 8968 on the Protection of Individuals with regard to the Processing of their Personal Data, you can:

  • Know what data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Ask us to delete your data.
  • Object to its processing.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time.

To exercise these rights, email info@arboreacr.com or message us on WhatsApp. We reply within 5 business days. If you believe we have not respected your rights, you can contact Costa Rica’s Data Protection Agency (PRODHAB): https://www.prodhab.go.cr

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data. The site runs on HTTPS, which encrypts information between your browser and the server, and only the Arbórea staff who handle orders can access the conversations.

11. Visitors from other countries

Our site is visited from all over the world and we ship internationally. We treat everyone’s data with the same safeguards described in this policy, under Costa Rican law.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of the page.
